Is this you?

You've tried the tools.
The loops are still running.

You've read the books. Tried the breathing. Maybe done therapy. And yet the anxiety, the overthinking, the inner critic β€” still there, still familiar, still exhausting.

You're not broken. You're not doing it wrong. Your nervous system learned these patterns for a reason. And it can learn something different.

Private sessions are for you if…

  • You're tired of managing symptoms and want to work at the level where the patterns actually live
  • You've tried many approaches and something still feels unmoved underneath
  • You want personalized support, not a one-size-fits-all program
  • You're ready to do real work β€” not just understand your anxiety, but shift it
The approach

This isn't talk therapy.
It's neural retraining.

Most approaches to anxiety work at the level of thinking β€” reframing, analyzing, understanding. That's valuable. But chronic anxiety patterns are stored deeper than thought. They live in the body, in the nervous system, in the subconscious.

The work we do together goes there β€” using structured, evidence-informed processing combined with practical neural retraining tools. Not to dig up the past indefinitely, but to gently and efficiently discharge what's been keeping your nervous system stuck.

Most approaches

Manage, cope, understand

Cognitive reframing and coping strategies work at the level of thought. Useful β€” but they don't reach the subconscious patterns driving the loop.

This work

Discharge at the root

We work directly with where the pattern lives. The result isn't insight β€” it's actual shift in how you feel, how you respond, and who you experience yourself to be.

β€œI’m emotionally lighter. I don’t feel so heavy in my mind, so pessimistic, so angry.
There are different layers that are peeling off.
I just don’t feel as emotionally bogged down as I used to.”

-Cynthia
"Well, before, if I got triggered, I would get really angry. It was almost like PTSD.
Β But it doesn’t affect me now!
I’m not triggered by those memories anymore."Β Β

-Joan
β€œI’ve been feeling really grounded, happy, and peaceful.
This approach has pulled off a big layer of things that I couldn’t work through on my own.
They were holding me back β€” and now it’s being pulled off. So it’s really nice!”

What to expect

How the
process works

1

Before we begin

After booking, you'll complete a detailed intake form. This helps me understand your full picture before we ever meet β€” so we use our time together wisely, not getting acquainted from scratch.

2

Session One

We orient, clarify what you most want to shift, and begin working. Many clients notice something tangible in the first session β€” not because it's magic, but because we don't spend the hour just talking about the problem.

3

Sessions Two and Three

We go deeper. Patterns that have been running for years don't dissolve overnight β€” but with focused, consistent work, the nervous system begins to respond differently. You'll have tools and support between each session to help that process settle.

4

Integration

Real change shows up in the days between sessions β€” in how you react to your kids, how you sleep, how quickly you recover when something hard happens. We track that together.

Right fit?

Who this is β€”
and isn't β€” for

Good fit

  • Dealing with anxiety and its symptoms β€” overwhelm, overthinking, people-pleasing, and more β€” not an acute mental health crisis
  • Open to a gentle, structured process β€” not just talking about the problem
  • Able to commit to three sessions within 9 weeks
  • Wanting personalized support, not a one-size program

Not a fit

  • Currently in an acute mental health crisis or needing clinical psychiatric care
  • Looking for a quick fix or a single-session solution
  • Not in a place to engage between sessions

Not sure whether private sessions or group work is the right level for you? That's a reasonable thing to wonder β€” and worth sorting out before booking. Schedule a free clarity call and we can figure it out together.

Feeling "Freed"
β€œEverything we have worked on has "disappeared" from my thoughts...as well as (negative) thoughts and things I used to say to myself or spend time thinking about. I feel "freed" from them. I am grateful!

Who you're working with

Susan Isom

I'm a Neuroscience Coach and Certified MAP Method Practitioner specializing in chronic anxiety, overthinking, and the patterns that keep intelligent women feeling stuck β€” despite everything they've already tried.

I work from a trauma-informed, nervous-system-aware foundation. I don't pathologize anxiety β€” I help you understand it, respect what it was trying to do, and gently retrain what no longer serves you.

My approach blends structured subconscious processing with practical neural retraining tools. It works because we're addressing the right level of the problem.

Questions

Before you book

Most clients describe the sessions as surprisingly gentle and relaxing β€” not what they expected. You won't be asked to relive difficult experiences in detail or push through discomfort. The process is structured and calm, and many people feel noticeably lighter by the end of the first session.
No. The goal is not to relive the experience. During the process, you briefly bring a specific moment to mind while staying grounded in the present. The session is designed to help your brain update how that memory is stored so it no longer carries the same emotional intensity. You remain aware of the present moment throughout. Most people are surprised by how gentle and manageable the process feels.
Emotional responses are completely normal when working with meaningful memories. If that happens, the most helpful approach is simply to observe the feeling and allow it to move through while continuing to follow the guidance. The session is designed to support your mind in completing the process from beginning to end. Staying with the session β€” even if emotion arises β€” allows the brain to fully update the memory so the intensity can settle.
If you haven't done an Introductory Group Session before, come with one specific memory in mind β€” a moment, situation, or experience that still carries some emotional charge for you. It doesn't need to be your biggest or most painful memory; it just needs to feel real and relevant. If you're not sure what to bring, you're welcome to schedule a free 10-minute prep call before we begin.
I recommend waiting until the session is fully finished before taking notes. During the session, your mind is gently revisiting a specific memory so the brain has the opportunity to update how that memory is stored and responded to. Writing or typing tends to pull attention back into thinking and analysis, which can interrupt that process. For the best experience, simply allow yourself to stay present with the guidance and let the process unfold β€” nothing needs to be figured out or captured in the moment. If you'd like, you're welcome to jot down insights or reflections afterward. Many people notice that their perspective on the memory has already begun to shift by then.
The group session is a powerful, affordable introduction to the process β€” you work on your own memory privately, alongside others, in a supported setting. Private sessions go deeper. We move at your pace, focus entirely on your specific patterns across three sessions, and you have my direct support between each one. Many clients come to private work after experiencing the group session and wanting more.
No. Whether this is your first structured attempt at addressing anxiety or you've tried many approaches before, we start where you are. The intake form helps me understand your background before we ever meet.
No. This is coaching β€” neuroscience-informed coaching. It is not a substitute for clinical mental health treatment. If you're unsure whether coaching or therapy is the right fit for you, I'm happy to help you think that through before you book.

There's a way through that doesn't require more willpower.

The patterns that drive anxiety can change. That's not a promise of perfection β€” it's how the nervous system works. If you're ready to do that work with someone who understands it at a deep level, I'd be glad to work with you.
